The day

Saturday, October 24, 2026

The time

11:30 AM PT / 2:30 PM ET

The place

Two hours, live on Zoom

You are good at work.
Everyone around you knows it.

A woman in a light blouse guiding white fabric under the needle of an industrial sewing machine

You answer the message at 11pm. You take the client when your calendar already said no. You quote a price and then lower it before anyone asks. You have a free Saturday coming up and you are already filling it.

The women who raised you did the same thing. Maybe your mom cleaned houses, maybe she worked a line, maybe she ran a business out of the garage and never called it a business. She did it tired. She did it with something always about to go wrong. Your grandmother did it before her, in a country where the stakes were higher and the margin was thinner.

That way of working got your family here. It made sense where they were standing. Nobody gave them another option.

You are in different conditions now and the same engine is still running. It shows up in your pricing. It shows up in how you talk about rest, like it is something you have to earn back. It shows up on the Sunday nights you cannot explain to anybody.

You have tried to fix this with discipline but the pattern came back within three weeks.

Nothing is wrong with you.
You are running somebody else’s survival plan.

What this is

A two hour live session. Journaling and mapping exercises, then group sharing.

You will build a labor map of three generations in your family. You will name who currently holds decision making power over your choices, including the people and forces you never handed it to on purpose.

You will write by hand. Some of what you write, you will be invited to read out loud.

Cameras are welcome, never required. Sharing is optional. You can keep your camera off and use any name that feels comfortable.

What you leave with

  1. 1.A written map of how work, money, and fear moved through three generations of your family.
  2. 2.A list of who holds voting rights over your decisions, and which of them you are ready to move to advisory.
  3. 3.Specific language for the pattern you inherited, so you can name it the next time you are about to overcommit.

Nothing is recorded. Register only if you can be there live on October 24.

Who this is for

Women and femmes of color who are building a career or running a business, and who see their mother in the way they work.

Who is teaching

Glo V.

Founder, Nalgona Positivity Pride

Glo V. is a speaker and educator whose work sits at the intersection of eating disorder harm reduction, anti-colonial education, and Xicana Indigenous feminist thought.

She has trained providers and spoken at campuses and organizations across the country. She also works with small business owners on building something that can hold them.

Price

$37 if you register early. $49 after that.

All sales are final. Nothing is recorded and nothing gets sent out afterward, so please check your calendar before you pay.

Nalgona Positivity Pride runs as a fully autonomous effort funded by community. Your registration pays for this session and for what gets built next.

Save my seat

Still holding a
question

Your parents worked the way they worked because the conditions demanded it. Honoring that labor does not require you to reproduce the conditions of it.
